Singtel Dash Mobile Wallet Is Now A Virtual Visa Prepaid Card For Better Cashless Payments

Singtel Dash mobile wallet service just got a big upgrade with Singapore’s first virtual Visa account on its all-in-one mobile payments app. That means with an account on Dash, you will automatically receive a Dash Visa virtual prepaid card that can be used for payments at online stores and if you have an NFC enabled Android smartphone, you can even use it at all Visa payWave merchants across Singapore.

With the addition of Visa, Dash users can now enjoy paying with their mobile at more than 50,000 physical merchant points and also on e-commerce sites. Dash users can also send out “Cash” to anyone (Dash or non-Dash users) within Singapore, which they will receive and enjoy use of a virtual Visa prepaid card upon signing up to Dash. So it’s time to go cashless.

So instead of getting a headache of what to buy for birthday present? Maybe we should just issue a Visa prepaid card to the birthday boy/girl via Singtel Dash app. GOOD IDEA!!!

Things To Note About Dash

• You need to be 16 years old and above to sign up for a Dash account. So you can only send cash to someone who is 16 and above.
• You do not need to be a Singtel subscriber to use Singtel Dash.
• You can only use Dash within Singapore and not overseas.
• You is a mobile wallet app service which can only store a maximum of S$999 in an account.
• Top-up of your Dash wallet via any bank account with eNETs, Singtel bill or at stores like Singtel Retail Shop, Singtel Exclusive Retailer, AXS Station and 7-Eleven.
• Singtel Dash app on iOS will have all functions except contactless payment like payWave and ezlink, which is currently not support by iPhone.

 

Singtel also announced future plans for Dash to be included in global wallets such as Apple Pay, and enable QR code payments to expand into hawker centres. In addition to Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, Dash is also working towards adding more educational institutions to its merchant list to widen its reach in the youth segment.
