7 September 2012, New York – Nokia and Microsoft CEOs Stephen Elop and Steve Ballmer together unveiled the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 – Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Both phones will be available in pentaband LTE and HSPA+ variants and are expected to start shipping in select markets later in the year.
Powered by Windows Phone 8, the new Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 have the ability to sync content between Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Windows 8-based PCs and tablets or Xbox so files, music, pictures and video can be accessed in whichever way is most convenient. With Synaptics ClearPad Series 3’s mobile touch solution for premium high end smartphones, the bar for high performance touch on the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 is raised with the introduction of support for gloves and fingernails. No more awkward moments to remove gloves to operate your smartphones.
The Nokia Lumia 920 uses the Nokia PureView with Optical Image Stabilization & Carl Zeiss optics to provide good imaging quality on a smartphone.
Where most of the smartphones come in Black or White variants only, Nokia smartphone continues to stand out from the crowd with its bright candy pop colours and the new Nokia Lumia 820 comes with with an exchangeable shell design too. Both Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 also feature optional accessories such as wireless charging with the Fatboy Recharge Pillow or use the JBL PowerUP, a wireless charging docking station with high quality audio.
