Steve Jobs launched the iPhone 4 at the Worldwide Developers Conference on 8 June 2010. I did a quick check at the Apple shop on Regent Street in London on Tuesday and was told that the iPhone 4G would be available from 24 June 2010. A quick conversion of the cost less the tax refund was a ballpark SGD$1000.
The new iPhone 4g is 9mm thick which is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS (but weighs 3 grams more), has a front-facing camera (VGA resolution) with “FaceTime” video calling (but it’s Wi-Fi only), an LED flash alongside its new 5-megapixel camera’s lens on the back, and separate buttons for volume up, down and mute. It also has a stainless steel rim that functions as the antenna. It comes in black or white with either a 16GB or 32GB capacity,
My only gripe with my iPhone 3G is that the battery drains off rather quickly. I probably over charged my current set which explains why the battery drains every 2 hours with my heavy duty usage of Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and WordPress as well as snapping photos.
Here’s the new performance specifications of the 4G battery.
Power and battery2
- Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- Charging via USB to computer system or power adapter
-

- Up to 7 hours on 3G

Now with the 4G, your photos are clearer at 5 megapixel with LED and you can record videos in HD. Video conferencing is now more feasible with a camera in the front as well.
