The new HTC One M9 released at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 1 March 2015 runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with HTC Sense.
Measuring 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.61mm and weighing 157g, the new all-metal unibody smartphone comes with graceful curves and a 5.0 inch Full HD 1080p display is small and easy to hold. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core CPU processor with a storage memory of 32GB, 3GB RAM and expandable with additional microSD memory cards up to 128GB. It’s battery has a capacity of 2,840mAh and a talk time of up to 21.7hours for 3G and a standby time of up to 402 hours for 3G.
It will be available in a range of customisable accessories including second generation HTC Dot View case with more retro personalisation. The HTC One M9 will be available in dual-tone silver and rose gold, single-tone gunmetal grey, single-tone gold and dual-tone gold and pink from mid March globally.
The new HTC Sense 7 now offers themes that intelligently analyses your favourite photos to modify the look and feel of your apps, colour scheme and backgrounds. Your most important apps will be on your home screen with the contextual, customisable widget.
The HTC One M9 comes with a 20 megapixels camera with a sapphire cover lens that protects it from scratches. The camera also shoots movies in 4K resolution. The UltraPixel front facing camera is described as “capturing 300% more light than standard cameras”.
HTC’s EYE Experience software helps take creative pictures with effects such as Shapes, Prismatic, Elements and Bokeh while the Zoe app automatically edits them and adds your choice of music and allowing others to remix the collection with their own shots. The new One Gallery makes it easy to search through the photo library, viewing images saved on the phone, on social media, and on select cloud platforms.
The HTC One M9’s audio is known as HTC BoomSound with dual front-facing speakers with 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound simulation and Qualcomm Immersive Audio. It offers 24-bit high-definition sound which is better than CD quality.
HTC Connect lets you swipe with three fingers on the screen to connect the phone to compatible televisions or external speakers. It is integrated with Qualcomm AllPlay smart media platform and Blackfire Research wireless media technology so you can stream high quality content on your smartphone.
