March 2011, Singapore – Samsung launched the new Series 9 Notebook at the Samsung Forum 2011 held at Sands Expo and Convention Center earlier this month. A premium notebook with state of the art design, performance and usability, the Series 9 weighs only 1.31kg, measures 16.3mm in depth and has a screen size of 13 inches. This notebook is made for people on-the-go.
The slim and sleek notebook is crafted from duralumin, a lightweight material usually used in advanced aircraft design, that is claimed to be twice as strong as aluminum. However, the material is a “fingerprint magnet” as the boys at the showcase have to wipe the notebook after every demo. The notebook also comes equipped with SuperBright Plus display with 400nit brightness, which is two times brighter than conventional displays, as well as its vibrant Color reproduction (16 million colors) and Super Contrast ratio (1,300:1), but not Full HD supported with resolution 1366 × 768.
The ports are nicely hidden when not in used on both left and right sides, similar to the ones found on the Macbook Air. All you need to do is pull it down when you need to use the built-in ports such as Micro SD card slot, 35mm headphone jack, Micro HDMI out, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports.
The notebook also comes with Backlit Keyboard which will comes in handy for those who like to work under low light environments. The whole package also comes with a matching DVD drive, Ethernet and VGA output ports. This notebook comes equipped with Solid-State Drive (SSD) storage and starts from US$1,599, definitely a high price for a nice notebook.
