Apple has unveiled an all-new MacBook that weighs 920 grammes and is 13.1mm thin. The new MacBook is touted to be the thinnest it has ever produced.
Here are some of it’s features:
- 12-inch Retina display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,304 x 1,440, measures just 0.88mm thin
- larger aperture for each pixel and uses 30% less energy than the existing Mac notebook Retina display
- highly responsive Apple-designed full-size keyboard which is 34% thinner than the 11 inch MacBook Air, using an Apple-designed butterfly mechanising that is 40% thinner than a traditional keyboard scissor mechanism, yet four times more stable
- stainless steel dome switches beneath each key offers a crisp and responsive feel when typing with individual backlit keys
- new Force Touch trackpad features built-in force sensors that lets you click anywhere and haptic feedback that provides a responsive and uniform feel
- Force Touch trackpad lets you customise the feel by changing the amount of pressure needed to register each click
- the logic board measures 67% smaller than that of the 11-inch MacBook Air
- first fanless Mac notebook making it silent
- runs on the new fifth-generation Intel Core M processor at 5 watts and Intel HD Graphics 5300
- compact USB-C port for data transfer, video out and charging in a single connector. The USB-C is a new industry standard that supports higher wattage charging, USB3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) data transfer and DisplayPort 1.2 in a single connector that is one-third the size of a traditional USB port
- new terraced battery design layered in individual sheets that maximises space to deliver all-day battery life with up to nine hours of wireless web browsing and up to 10 hours of iTunes movie playback
- measure 13.1mm at its thickest point
- 24% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air
- comes with OS X Yosemite
- first MacBook with an all-metal enclosure
- available in three aluminium finishes – gold, silver and space grey

The all-new MacBook will begin shipping Friday 10 April 2015 through Apple online store at www.apple.com/sg and select Apple Authorised Resellers. There are two versions available at a suggested retail price of S$1,788 or S$2,288, both inclusive of GST.
