15 September 2010, Singapore (Press Release) – With less than two weeks to the 2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, seven ticket categories are now fully sold out with limited availability in all remaining categories. The Turn 1 Grandstand and Sunday Zone 4 Walkabout tickets are no longer available for sale, in addition to the previously announced sell-out of Pit Grandstand, Esplanade Waterfront Grandstand, Republic (Turn 3) Grandstand, Connaught Grandstand, 3-Day Zone 4 Walkabout and Premier Walkabout.
Of the remaining inventory, interested fans can still choose from the Bay Grandstand which offers a spectacular view of the Marina Bay, a dedicated Freestyle Trials Bike show and access to the exciting entertainment within Zone 4. Fans can also opt for the Padang Grandstand which offers spectators close proximity to the race action on the track as well as the LG Live at 2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX stage at the Padang. See Annex 1 for the full list.
Hospitality sales have also been equally robust, with 97% already taken up. All Formula One Paddock Club™ suites, dedicated Sky Suites and Club Suites are now fully commited circuit-wide. Only very limited availability remains in the Pit Straight shared Club Suite and the Green Room at the Stamford Grandstand. Any further requests for the Formula One Paddock Club™ will be put on a waitlist.
“With Singapore GP presenting the most extensive entertainment line-up yet, the return of FORMULA ONE legends and a nail-biting championship race, the fans are poised to have another great year at the FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX,” said Michael Roche, Executive Director, Singapore GP.
With most Zone 1 tickets now fully sold, Singapore GP has released an additional new prime seating category, the Marina Pit Grandstand, to meet the strong demand for Zone 1 passes which enables patrons to access all zones within the Circuit Park. Located near the end of the Pit Lane, the Marina Pit Grandstand offers excellent vantage points of the cars racing along the Pit Straight as they approach Turn 1 as well as a close-up look at the cars as they prepare to exit the Pit Lane.
The remaining tickets available for sale are priced from S$38 for a Friday Zone 4 Walkabout ticket to S$1,288 for a three-day Marina Pit Grandstand ticket.
To combat secondary ticket onselling which exploits the interests of genuine fans, Singapore GP has reserved a small allocation of tickets from some sold-out categories to be made available on a first-come-first-serve basis at the circuit park entrances on race days. Ticket categories that are available on race days will be announced on the official website www.singaporegp.sg by Thursday, 23 September 2010.
“We always encourage customers to exercise due diligence and only purchase tickets sold by Singapore GP and their authorised resellers,” said Jennifer Pok, Director of Ticketing and Accreditation. “Fans should not take a resale offer at face value as tickets from unauthorised resellers may very often be fraudulent or already void. The selling of tickets above face value deprives true fans of the opportunity to attend.”
