The second edition of The Colour Run in Singapore kicked off at Sentosa yesterday afternoon with up to 9,000 participants dressed in white getting coloured. Another 9,000 have registered to join the Happiest 5k later today. 60% of participants aged 2 to 80 took part in their first running event ever.
The Colour Run has reached out to 170 cities since 2011 with over one million participants in the last year. The Colour Run also made its debut this year in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur attracting 11,000 and 13,000 respectively.
The Colour Run is presented by CIMB Bank and will give back to the community by donating S$1 from every registration to the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC). SDSC athletes including Paralympians Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh will take part in the event later today.
At the end of the run yesterday, the Colour-Throwing Festival treated the runners to music, dance and colour extravaganza and the chance to splash more powder on others.
