30 October 2012, Singapore – This year, the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon turns 25 on 25 November 2012 at one of Southeast Asia’s tallest hotel, Swissôtel The Stamford.   This Swissôtel Vertical Marathon is the 8th leg out of 9 vertical races in the Vertical World Circuit.  The other 8 circuits include New York, London, Basel, Berlin, Taipei, Milan, Ho Chi Minh City and Brazil.  Participation for the vertical marathon has grown from 180 participants in its first year to 2,053 last year.

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the vertical challenge this year will expect 2,1000 participants conquer 1,336 steps over 73 stories in the shortest time possible.

Race Categories

  • Men’s & Women’s categories from under 20 to above 50 – The winners of the Men’s and Women’s open categories will fly to New York, USA for the by-invitation only Empire State Building Run Up 2013.
  • Buddies and Besties’ Challenge
  • Corporate Challenge

A personalised e-certificate and a commemorative finisher medal will receive be given to all participants who complete the race.

Swissôtel hopes to raise S$50,000 to be donated equally in 2 cheques of S$25,000 each to Spastic Children’s Association of Singapore (SCAS) and MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund.    Funds will be raised through corporate sponsorships and sale of the limited edition 25th anniversary Niu Niu plush toy.
