As part of Star Alliance’s 25th-anniversary celebrations, the world’s first and largest global airline network alliance, is hosting a charity run in Singapore on 9 October 2022 in support of healthcare workers responding to Covid-19. The Star Alliance Run rewards every eligible participant who finishes the run with a chance to win exciting travel prizes such as business class tickets on Star Alliance member airlines, hotel stays and airport lounge access.

Proceeds from the run will be channelled by Community Chest towards supporting front-line healthcare workers under The Coverage Fund and the Healthcare Humanity Awards to recognise the bravery and dedication of healthcare workers in Singapore. The awards were first given out in 2003 during the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak and have continued till today, with recent editions focused on the contributions of healthcare workers contributing to the fight against Covid-19.

Star Alliance has 26 member airlines and a comprehensive airline network. The alliance has a strong focus on promoting a seamless, improved customer experience, with smooth flight connections, as well as initiatives such as airport co- location, digital infrastructure, frequent flyer integration and joint airport lounges. Star Alliance has been operating in Singapore since October 2021, when it opened its Centre of Excellence here. It also has another office in Frankfurt, Germany.
