Singapore Hotels Welcome F1 Guests

This is the week where overseas visitors throng into Singapore for the sixth edition of the annual Formula One Grand Prix. Singapore’s buzzing with parties. Singapore Hotels here get to charge premium for the room nights especially if you get a good view of race track and roads close in preparation for the race.

We hear of two Singapore hotels that have created live-sized cars for their lobbies to welcome guests just for the Grand Prix.

Singapore Hotels - The Fullerton Bay F1
The Fullerton Bay Hotel has gone the extra mile to display a custom race car made of 6,000 orchids, carnations and roses to welcome its guests. The red and white car measures 2.2 metres by 1.2 metres while a Fullerton plush bear dressed in a vintage race suit is placed in the car seat.

 

Singapore Hotels - Royal Plaza on Scotts - F1 2013

Royal Plaza on Scotts has created the world’s largest live sized pasta car measuring 4.4 metres long, 1.9 metres wide and 1.3 metres tall. Created by 18 of the hotel’s chefs and culinary staff, the car was completed in 1130 hours. Eight types of pasta including penne, spirals, spaghetti, elbows, fettuccine, tagliatelle and squid ink pasta.
