This is the week you need the Apple Watch. Not 2015.
C’mon, guys, it is the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1, everything’s happening over Thursday 18 September thru to Monday 22 September.
How’d you expect moi to keep abreast of the roar of the engines, the smell of the grease, the curve of the chicanes, the size of J-Lo’s booty, the tancho-pomaded slick of Robbie Williams’ matinee idol hair, directions to Amber Lounge, the 182 ways to mix Johnnie Walker (Blue)?
Plus yet another app to map how to race between the drivers and the parties and the concerts without tripping over a tyre.
Here’s where you stop reading, to take notes on who to spot where at what time, this is all happening Thu 18 Sep:
- Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen – Raffles City Convention Centre 12.45pm.
- McLaren’s Kevin Magnussen – Wisma Atria 2.30pm.
- Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso – Clarke Quay Central 3pm.
- Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton – Paragon Atrium 4pm.
And over race weekend Fri 19/Sat 20/Sun 21 spot and stalk:
Drivers & Celebrities Central is Amber Lounge at Temasek Reflections behind Millenia Walk near Conrad Hotel. The later the night the better the chances.
The chic & the cool will be at Johnnie Walker Circuit Lounge in 1-Altitude 1 Raffles Place, just follow the golden people.
Victorious. It is the OTHER race, on a circuit of six nightspots for pit stops. In the spirit of Formula 1, the official champagne G.H.Mumm joins in the Singapore Grand Prix with a Victory Lap that has guests racing from one hotspot to the next over this sporting weekend.
The bubbly of race car champions has staked its chequered flag – oh all right, its winning red ribbon – at the following party pit stops:
- Fashion TV Club 18 Sep.
- Zouk, and Match, 19 Sep.
- Poolside Pitstop Party at Pan Pacific 20 & 21 Sep.
- Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel 21 Sep.
- (The first, at Tanjong Beach Club, flagged off last week.)
F1’s official crowning drink (winning drivers are doused in G.H.Mumm on the podium) gives F1 fans the liberty (so French) to choose more than one party option. Call your Pernod Ricard merchant now.
The view of the race from the G.H. Mumm terrace in Fullerton Bay Hotel c’est magnifique!
The sleek & sophisticated will be at Podium Lounge in Ritz-Carlton, poolside. Last year enroute to the pool, I accidentally-on-purpose tripped and leaned into the hotel elevator just as Ferrari’s Alonso was going up to his room.
You have been warned. Purrr-vrooom!
