TOKYU HANDS is now known as just HANDS. This rebranding initiative is rooted in the core theme of preserving the essence of “Restoration of the Hands,” preserving its heritage while embracing future transformations. Under this new brand identity, characterised by the message “Inspiration begins with your hands. Excitement emanates from your hands,” the aim is to enhance people’s lives and cultivate a cultural lifestyle.

On March 31, 2022, TOKYU HANDS underwent a name and trade name change, becoming HANDS as it became a subsidiary of CAINZ Corporation, a significant entity within the BEISA Group. CAINZ Corporation is the management of the DIY Shop home centre chain with 234 stores in Japan as of 1 June 2023.

The motif of the new logo is the “hand”, which represents the starting point of the company. The stylised imagery of the kanji word te is created in a continuous single stroke. This symbolises the founding purpose of inheriting the past while updating the future. The deep green colour is incorporated in hopes of continuing to uphold HANDS’ values and familiarity.

All HANDS stores, including HANDS Singapore, will carry the new company name and logo by the end of March 2024. HANDS Inc. was established in August 1976, and as of 18 October 2023, there are 93 stores, including 15 overseas. Singapore’s first outlet opened at Westgate in 2014. Today there are five stores here including Great World, PLQ Mall, Jewel Changi Airport, Orchard Central and Suntec City Mall. The Westgate outlet closed on 2 August 2020.
