This year ION Orchard celebrates its fifth anniversary. A private gala dinner was held at level one inside the mall just outside Sephora seating some 120 people. Dinner and cocktails from the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore were served last Thursday. The mall will be working closely with American Express as its new official card.
Chris Daughtry performed a couple of songs before his showcase the next day for public guests. Overheard some of the guests seated with me mentioned that they are now fans of Chris Daughtry whom they previously have not heard him sing.
Taiwanese Mandopop singer Elva Hsiao performed for one night only during the Gala Dinner with some up-tempo songs and quick dance moves accompanied by her dancers. Though the rest of the world seemed more interested in Elva’s outing with allegedly Singaporean beau, Elroy Cheo after they were spotted having supper at Newton Hawker Centre together with her crew.
Elva Hsiao and Chris Daughtry added the finishing touches and signed on a painting from the Singapore Association for Mental Health which was on silent auction during the gala dinner with proceeds going to the Community Chest of Singapore.
There was also a fashion show with models strutting down the stage and short carpeted runway in clothes and accessories from brands and labels available at ION Orchard.
I had a great night. It has been five great years in ION Orchard as well. The mall has been a venue for many media events at the ION Sky, or the many Nespresso sessions at their store on level one. To many more great years! Happy birthday ION Orchard!
