Carousell launches web platform

Carousell mobile marketplace is now available on the web platform to reach wider audiences so you can access it on your desktop computers. The web version has received over 140 million page views to date even before any publicity about the new platform.

You can browse and shop the 26 million listings on the marketplace. Similar to the mobile app, you can list and sell items on the web platform. Carousell’s web platform is built on the latest web technologies such as ReactJS, which was developed by Facebook and used exclusively by Facebook previously before being open-sourced to engineers.

Existing Carousell App users can log in to their web accounts with the same user name and password and vice versa.

Carousell makes selling as simple as taking photos and allows anyone to create a free listing to sell their items in just 30 seconds. Bargains here can be up to 80% below retail prices.

Carousell was set up by three co-founders and is three years old this year. 8 million items have been sold with 50+ new items listed every minute. Carousell is available in four languages in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan. It is the number one lifestyle/shopping app in Singapore since 2014. Some of the most popular categories on Carousell include “For Her”, “Lifestyle Gadgets” and “Beauty Products”.
