The aromatic intensity within the luminous ruby-hued bottle comes from eau-de-vie which is harvested from the finest crus and from patient ageing which extends way beyond the minimum stipulated by legislation.

At the tasting event, I spoke to Thibault Robert, the International brand ambassador for Louis XIII and Remy Martin who was in town for the International Bartender Conference. Thibault joined the group in 2007 as the brand ambassador for Louis XIII in Europe. More recently in October this year, he was also appointed as the brand ambassador for Remy Martin.

We got to taste the Remy Red Freeze Cocktail and the Remy Red Hot Cocktail. Personally, with my liking for the sweet and refreshing taste, my favourite was the Remy Red Freeze Cocktail.
Remy Red Freeze Cocktail is simple to make at home too. Here’s the recipe:
- 2 oz Remy Martin VSOP
- 3/4 cup Fresh Watermelon
- Simple Syrup to taste
- Ice
Muddle watermelon and strain. Sweeten with simple syrup if necessary. Add Remy Martin VSOP and ice then shake and pour into a martini glass.
As for the Remy Red Hot Cocktail, here’s the recipe:
- 2 oz Remy Martin VSOP
- Cranberry Juice
- Ice
Pour Remy Martin VSOP into glass with ice. Top up with cranberry juice. Stir and serve.
