Spotify Year In Review has picked up the listening habits of Spotify’s 24 million users around the world revealing the most popular songs and artists of the year. This year, phenomenon such as Miley Cyrus’ Twerk, “What Does The Fox Say” made worldwide headlines. Spotify has also announced that 4.5 billion hours or the equivalent of 50,000 y ears of music was streamed on Spotify.
In Singapore, Jay Chou was the most streamed artist this year (which we wonder why) followed by Maroon 5. Singapore listens to Maroon 5 281% more than the rest of the world. Vanessa-Mae is the most followed artist in Singapore. P!nk’s Just Give Me A Reason was the most streamed song of the year with 365,000 streams since its debut on Spotify. (That’s a personal favourite too! I’ve probably contributed a few dozen streams). Daft Punk’s Get Lucky received the most streams in a single day on 20 April 2013 and came in second while Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors came in number three.
