Cath Kidston may have let Christine Hafsten take over the reins as design director, but the essence of the brand’s prints is not lost. In fact, they got better. Their Autumn/Winter 2015 collection features Christine and her team’s reinvention of the brand’s iconic florals in A Riot of Print and Colour.

Expect their re-invented florals in a variety of bags.

Inspired by the changing of seasons, the highlight of the collection focuses on their classic floral prints. Subtle but surely, they have re-created prints such as Garden Rose, Spray Flowers and British Birds with new colour combinations. Christine is breathing a fresh scent into the brand’s rich heritage, and bringing them onto everything from messengers, totes to tea dresses and pretty blouses; allowing one to bring a touch of modern vintage to this urban jungle.

Take the lovely Oxford Rose for example. It is given a mature and modern spin, while still sticking to its whimsy and delicate trailing blooms. The shift dress is a particular favourite thanks to the flattering A-line shape. It is ideal for summer months when you want to show off your legs or perfect with the matching coat and textured knits during a winter getaway.

Another to look out for will the the Spray Flowers print. Along with Provence Rose, they were give a neon treatment for a bold remake for bags, dress, kitchenware and kids. They are for the sweet girly girl who is not afraid to steal all the attention in the room.

They have reworked British Birds into three new colourways.

If floral is not your thing, the collection also features the elegant British Birds. One of their first foray into animal-themed prints, the little bird first made its debut in 2005 and continues to be a popular choice. It is a romantic alternative to their usual floral prints, without taking away from the brand’s essence. Their vibrant new plumage matches the delicate branches of cherry blossoms inspired by English gardens. Whether if its a subtle grey, ruby red and a soft green, these birds are fluttering across everything from bags, PJs to bedsheets.

New to the brand or not, give a nod to British heritage this season and explore their 22 years worth of iconic florals with the coming of Autumn.

The Autumn/Winter 2015 Collection is now available in all Cath Kidston stores.
