The Singapore Heart Foundation is holding a public health talk this Saturday 8 June 2013 from 1.30 to 4.30pm at the Toa Payoh Central Community Club Mini Theatre. Dr Reginald Liew, Senior consultant cardiologist from The Harley Street Clinic Heart Specialists will help you understand your heart better and the risk factors and symptoms of heart conditions.
Shortness of breath, chest pains and heart flutter can be symptoms of a common but largely undiagnosed heart condition called atrial fibrillation (AF) which increases risk of a potentially deadly stroke caused by a blockage in blood supply to the brain by up to 8 times. There are some 50,000 people in Singapore who have AF but two-thirds do not know they have it.
Free pre-screening tests are available for participants including AF, Blood Pressure, BMI and fat analysis.
Seats are limited and registration is required via http://www.myheart.org.sg/event/pulse-check-singapore-public-health-talk/27
