The Glen Grant Launches Rare 65-Year-Old Whisky in Singapore

A remarkable whisky aged over six decades has arrived in Singapore. The Glen Grant has launched its exceptional 65-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This isn’t your everyday bottle—it’s the debut expression of the brand’s new, highly exclusive Splendours Collection.

Only 151 handcrafted decanters are available worldwide. That makes this whisky genuinely rare, a true collector’s item for whisky enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

Inspired by the Garden of Splendours

The Splendours Collection takes inspiration from The Glen Grant’s famous private garden in Rothes, Scotland. This lush space is famously known as the Garden of Splendours.

The star of this first release is the Himalayan Blue Poppy. It’s a rare flower that grows right in the distillery’s garden. The poppy symbolises rarity, elegance, and the dedication it takes to nurture something truly special—just like this whisky.

Each of the decanters has been meticulously handcrafted by designers John Galvin and Glasstorm. Their shape mirrors a Mobius strip seed pod, symbolising eternity and timelessness. Each decanter features delicate engravings of the Himalayan Blue Poppy. They’ve even incorporated wood from trees growing within the distillery’s own garden, blending the whisky’s heritage directly into the bottle itself.

A Whisky Crafted Over Generations

The Glen Grant 65-Year-Old was distilled in 1958. It has rested patiently for decades in a single French oak butt. This exceptional cask has been slowly maturing in Warehouse No. 4, the distillery’s oldest stone warehouse.

Master Distiller Greig Stables and his team carefully selected this cask to showcase the very best of The Glen Grant’s style. Despite its advanced age, this whisky retains the vibrant character and elegance the distillery is famous for.

Pour yourself a dram, and you’ll notice its deep, rich mahogany colour. On the nose, there’s a delightful aroma of syrupy treacle combined with ripe blackberries and subtle sandalwood.

Take a sip, and vibrant notes of orange and ripe black cherries unfold. The taste develops into indulgent layers of fruit cake and sticky dates. The finish is lingering and graceful, bringing out soft citrus, gentle spice, refined oak, and a hint of smoke.

Greig Stables, Master Distiller at The Glen Grant, brings decades of expertise and passion to his craft. Having worked closely alongside legendary predecessor Dennis Malcolm OBE, Greig is committed to preserving the distillery’s rich heritage while innovating with each new release. On the launch of the Glen Grant 65-Year-Old, he shares:

“This whisky captures a lifetime of flavour and character from its journey in a single French oak butt. Despite its age, it retains The Glen Grant’s distinctive style. It truly reflects our distillery’s unwavering commitment to whisky-making excellence.”

This launch follows other recent, prestigious releases from the distillery. Past highlights include The Visionary One of One (68-Year-Old) and Devotion (70-Year-Old). These exclusive releases have further cemented The Glen Grant’s reputation among whisky collectors and aficionados around the world.

Exclusivity Comes at a Price

The Glen Grant 65-Year-Old is available at an impressive price tag of USD$50,000 per decanter. While this means it’s certainly not for everyone, serious collectors and whisky lovers will recognise the unparalleled rarity and exclusivity this whisky offers.

With just 151 bottles across the globe, owning one of these decanters isn’t just about tasting remarkable whisky—it’s about becoming a part of whisky history.
