Well well well… if your last visit to The Black Swan was more than three months ago, I highly recommend you to make a return visit now. Award-winning Chef Daniel Sia aka The Disgruntled Chef is now the Culinary Director for The Lo & Behold Group. His recently revamped menu at The Black Swan puts the WOW factor on the new dishes and brings the gastronomic experience to the next level. Trust me… it’s a place for you to impress your date or ANYONE.
Here are the new dishes that we tried and like:
Choux Puff with Cheese (Money Can’t Buy)
Instead of serving up hot bread, they now serve up freshly baked Choux Puffs with Cheese that are light and aromatic for a change. These delectable puffs are made with smoked scamorza, gruyere and parmesan. They not available for order from the menu and are only served complimentary to diners. So don’t drop these precious balls. Only one per diner.
Vidalia Onion Broth, S$26
The Vidalia Onion Broth may seem “MEH”… but when its topped with bone marrow flan and served with camembert toast, that’s a different ball-game. Take a bite of the toast after dipping into the broth. It will make you go “Oooooohh…” from that light crunch of the toast with camembert cheese and savoury broth oozing onto your tongue. It’s a match made in heaven.
Steak Tartare, S$26
Hand chopped steak tartare and soft quail eggs served with thin & crispy waffle crisp, makes a great appetiser to open up your palette for a great meal ahead.
Roasted Iberian Pork Chop, S$42
The Roasted Iberian Pork Chop is done to perfection. The meat is tender & juicy, while the fats melt in your mouth. The apple cider sauce over the pork chop complements the meat. There is a nice hint of sweetness to elevate the tastiness of this premium cut of meat. BRAVO!!!
Whole Dover Sole A La Meuniere, S$58
For seafood lovers, the Whole Dover Sole À La Meunière is a timeless French fish dish pan-fried in beurre noisette, lemon, capers, parsley and topped with wilted spinach. It is refreshing to pair the fish with such a generous portion of spinach. This fish is served with bones, so do be careful not to choke.
Tajima Wagyu Striploin, S$60
With a beef marbling score from 4 to 5, these 500-day grain-fed Tajima Wagyu Striploin is only one grade lower than Kobe Beef. It is still a good grade of beef which is worthy of your calorie count. Topped with the buttery goodness of bone marrow flan, this is the dish that will make me wanna go back to The Black Swan again!!! I am drooling even thinking about it!
Cookies & Cream, S$16
A pleasant way to end your dinner at The Black Swan. Their rendition of Cookies & Cream is every adults’ dream come true. It consists of two dark chocolate shortbread filled with white chocolate ganache perfectly paired with Baileys spiked milkshake.
Classic Apple Tart, S$14
A refreshing tasty & Instagram worthy Classic Apple Tart made with Granny Smith apple confit, topped with gold flakes, prunes & armagnac ice cream.
