Save your appetites for Sunday because the Sunday brunch at The Bar & Billiard Room at Raffles Singapore is the place to be at with a bunch of friends and family.
Located just next to the hotel wing of the landmark Raffles Singapore, The Bar & Billiard Room is the venue for European lunch buffets from Thursdays to Saturdays, seafood nights from Thursdays to Saturdays and a lavish carving champagne brunch on Sundays. The Bar & Billiard Room was first established in 1896 and today it still houses two original billiard tables from the turn of the century. Eat within the colonial setting in the Bar & Billiard Room with high ceilings, tiled floors and huge windows around the room.
The Sunday brunch menu offers a special selection menu of red and white wine, beer, Singapore Slings, soft drinks and juices as well as a buffet spread of some of the finest dishes from around the world for just S$158++ per person. For S$178++ you get to enjoy unlimited servings of Champagne Billecart Salmon Burt and for S$198++ Champagne Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé.
There is such a wide selection of food, we took a while to decide where to start first. There was the salads and antipasti section, hot food section, carving stations, live stations where there was seared foie gras with celeriac mousseline and a ravioli station. For desserts, there is a pastry chef selection and ice cream trolley, that’s if you still have any appetite left.
The carving station offers an impressive selection of meats. You get to enjoy Australian grain fed Prime Rib on the bone, Omaha Beef tenderloin “Borderlaise” sauce, potato fondant, Roasted Welsh leg of lamb with garlic, mint jelly, mustard selection, garlic confit, Roasted Welsh rack of lamb with herbs crust, gravy, shallots confit, Slow oven baked Welsh lamb shoulder with condiments, gratin potato, Organic milk fed rack of veal/macaroni au gratin, BBQ Iberico pork ribs and Tomahawk Prime Rib.
The chefs have prepared twelve different dishes at the Hot Food section. The Black Cod with Matelote Sauce; Squid Risotto, vegetables and crustacean sauce; Duck in orange sauce and Potato mousseline are must tries. With a choice of two soups of the day, you will be spoilt for choice when selecting your bread to accompany the soup.
We were mesmerised by the selection at the Dessert station. Desserts encapsulated within egg shells, freshly made nougats and pralines as well as gorgeous coloured cups amongst other cakes and pastries.
The room fills up very quickly so be sure to make reservations. Sunday Brunch is available from 12pm to 3pm. Visit The Bar & Billiard Room website for more information. For more food images, visit our Flickr Account.
