4 July 2012, Singapore – Subway introduces their latest beef pastrami sub recently with the theme “I’ve got beef pastrami on my mind”. Served on their trans fat free breads, the beef pastrami offer is served for a limited time at participating outlets in Singapore only.
Check out our writer Dennis’s review of this sandwich. By the way, he’s an ardent Subway fan.
Dennis, who simply adores Subway subs, saw the posters and television ads a few times this week and had to try it for himself. He walked to his neighbourhood Subway and ordered a 6 inch Beef Pastrami for lunch. Dennis’s choice of bread was the Hearty Italian bread because it is always crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on he inside. For toppings, he had a healthy combination of lettuce and tomatoes. It was tough deciding what sauce to pair with the savoury tate of the beef as well as the spiciness from the pepper corn on the pastrami. In the end, Dennis settled for Sweet Onion Sauce andHoney Mustard. Well the beauty of Subway subs is that you can always return to try your favrouite sub with different sauces. Yes mixing and matching lets you in on different flavours.
“I love how the sweetness of the sauces and the tomato goes well with the savoury and spicy taste of the beef pastrami. Every bite is a mouthful of beef pastrami and yet it’s still not too heavy or sinful for someone who’s on a diet (hint hint: me)” chuckled Dennis.
Dennis never stops at the sub. He always gets himself two of Subway’s soft and irresistibly good daily baked cookies to end the meal with a sweet note. But for this meal, he finished off both and he claims that they are his all time favourite comfort food. His favourites are Peanut Butter, White Chip Macadamia Nut and Double Chocolate cookies.
The light and savoury flavoured Subway Beef Pastrami sub costs only S$6.90 for 6″ and S$11.40 for foot long sub. Try something different from the usual ham and chicken subs.
