Souper Tang (previously Taang Shifu) has 18 outlets in Johor Bahru, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Malaysia. Last month it opened its first outlet at The Centrepoint’s new F&B cluster. Souper Tang Soups
The Souper Tang signature soup priced at S$26.90 for two or S$39.90 for four features conpoy, shitake mushrooms, American ginseng slices, ginseng root, cordyceps flower and fish maw with whole pieces of chicken and glutinous rice wine. This soups helps you retain vitality and energy flow while boosting vitality and concentration offering anti-ageing qualities.
There are also six soups which have been on the menu since 2009. The Panax Ginseng Soup with Black Chicken is a ‘cooling’ soup which replenishes energy, boosts vitality and helps reduce inflammation. The Ning Shen Remedying Soup is a ‘warming’ soup that promotes better sleep and helps calm the mind. The Tian Qi nourishing soup is said to improve overall blood circulation and increase bone density. The Gelatin Ba Zhen Nourishing Soup helps with pain management and rejuvenating of the body. Shi Quan – The 10 herbs Soup is a warming formula that helps nourish the immunity system by stimulating the appetite reducing vertigo and help ease the symptoms of insomnia. These soups are priced from S$12.90.
Souper Tang’s soups are made with a proprietary base that has been simmered for eight hours. The ingredients are then added and cooked together for another two hours.
Souper Tang Pesto Pot
Besides soups, there are also other items on the menu. It’s signature Souper pesto pot offers diners a hot pot option. The soup base is a pesto mix of green vegetables and other ingredients such as basil, mint, daun kesom (laksa leaf) and pine nuts. A selection of vegetables such as Chinese spinach, corn, enoki and eryngii mushrooms, thick beancurd skin, tau kwa, Little Cloud black fungus and red sweet potato noodles come with the Souper Pesto Pot. Souper Tang Non Soup Dishes
Other dishes in the menu include home braised pork belly in rich dark sauce (S$18.90), steamed chicken with cordyceps flower and essence of chicken (S$19.90), claypot Atlantic codfish with fish maw (S$29.90), stir fried French beans with pu er (S$11.90), stewed fish head with ginger and chuan xiong (S$21.90) and many others.
And for those dining alone, go for the one-dish meals. These rice-sets include the dried scallops and petite abalone mixed rice (S$13.90), simmered sesame chicken pot (S$12.90) and Souper braised pork rice (S$10.90), or the homemade pesto vegetable rice pot with pine nut (S$10.90). There are also noodle and congee dishes should you prefer that over rice.
Souper Tang Desserts
Souper Tang is your one stop for a happy meal. End it off with its caramel ginger beancurd or the wild honey longan and gingko. Desserts are priced from S$3.90.
