If value-for-money is what you expect for lunch, then the Saturday lunch buffet at The Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore is for you. Priced at S$50 nett, 30 different dishes are offered from 12pm to 4pm every Saturday. Kids below 12 get charged S$25 nett.
Aptly called A Long Long Lunch, you can also enjoy local treats such as Kaya Toast, Portugese Egg Tarts, Ice Kachang, old school cream cakes as well as desserts filled with durian paste.
Kaya Toast goes well with runny eggs and a nice cup of teh tarik. There is also Bandung, the rose syrup and evaporated milk beverage, that’ll bring back the good old memories of the baby boomer generation.
A variety of Singapore heritage dishes such as homemade laksa, Penang Prawn Noodle Soup, Bak kut teh, Satay Nasi Lemak with Otah, Roti Prata, Dim Sum as well as Charsiew Soo Fried Carrot Cake, Popiah and Rojak are also available.
There are also Japanese and Thai stations where you can try the Tom Yum soup, Thai Papaya and Mango salad as well as a selection of sushi and sashimi.
