Rest.In.Peace Centre Halloween Horror: Explore the Haunting before the building vanishes in February 2024

The spine-tingling adventure known as the “Rest.In.Peace Centre Horror Experience” officially kicked off its hair-raising journey on the fourth floor of the renowned Peace Centre mall, on none other than the ominous Friday the 13th of October. This historic shopping complex, nestled on Sophia Road, stands on the brink of foreclosure, with its final demise set for February 2024. What’s particularly unsettling about this grim location is the fact that it has remained untouched by renovations since its initial construction.

Once you step foot onto the fourth floor, a surreal sense of time travel envelopes you. The very essence of the ’70s decor clings to every nook and cranny. The floor tiles, reminiscent of a bygone era, retain their original charm, and the wooden handrails bear the marks of countless hands that have passed over them. The walls, a faded pastel green, serve as a haunting canvas, echoing the color palettes of a long-forgotten time.

This chilling amalgamation of factors creates an atmosphere that’s almost like a portal to the past, a time capsule from a different era. The fourth floor of Peace Centre is frozen in the ’70s, its unsettling ambiance exuding an eerie nostalgia that becomes the backdrop for the haunting tales and experiences that await those who dare to venture within. The convergence of its impending closure and the unaltered retro decor sets the stage for an exploration that is as unsettling as it is enthralling, making the Rest.In.Peace Centre Horror Experience a truly unforgettable encounter with the supernatural and the unsettling.

The commercial building was built around 1977 and used to house various businesses with 232 commercial units, 86 apartments, and 162 car park lots in a 10-storey front podium block and a rear 32-storey tower. Peace Centre and Peace Mansion were sold for S$650 million late in 2021 to a joint venture comprising Sing Haiyi, Crystal, CEL Development, and Ultra Infinity after a fifth attempt at a collective sale. The site is zoned for commercial use, and an in-principle approval to renew the site’s lease for a fresh 99-year term by the Singapore Land Authority was obtained in March 2019. Plans are to redevelop it to a height of 55 m, with part of the site potentially up to 67m.

This is your last chance to bid farewell to Peace Centre before it is redeveloped. Why not experience it in a fun way?

The event is available from Friday to Sunday in October 2023. Tickets are available from Klook and are priced at S$23 and S$28 for Halloween week. The experience is recommended for those above 13 years old. Look out for the secreGett codes hidden around the space and scan them for more chances to unlock the gold prizes!

Embark on a chilling journey through a multitude of terrifying dimensions by becoming a “Wandering Spirit,” delving into the eerie specters haunting the ominous Peace Centre. Here, you will encounter a haunting gallery of apparitions, each cursed by their own unsettling tales of woe. One such ghostly figure is the “Weeping Mother,” a spirit forever bound to her sorrow and anguish. Her tragic story unfolds as that of a once-cherished KTV hostess who, in a desperate quest for timeless beauty, made a blood pact that sealed her grim fate.

As you navigate the mysterious corridors of Peace Centre, you’ll soon realize that the horrors lurking within its walls are as diverse as they are unsettling. The spirits you’ll encounter are tormented souls, each with their own unique and bone-chilling narrative to unveil. The Weeping Mother’s story is but one of the many disturbing sagas that await your exploration.

With a wealth of experience in the horror event industry, she has previously played pivotal roles in crafting iconic spectacles, including Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.

The organizing responsibilities for this hair-raising event fall under the capable purview of Oceanus Media Global, a dynamic creative media tech company. Meanwhile, the event space itself is masterfully managed by PlayPan. Together, this assembly of visionaries, change-makers, and community leaders is reimagining the concept of social impact within local communities. Their collaborative efforts manifest in the creation of spaces that advocate for worthy causes, offering a platform for support and change. This event signals a large-scale step to transforming Peace Centre into a vibrant hub of creativity and collaboration.
