Skip those long haul flights across the ocean. OverEasy brings us the classic American Diner experience right in the heart of Orchard Road. Featuring an expanded dining menu from its Fullerton branch, it has also kept its extensive cocktails menu – with a couple of new additions, courtesy of The Powder Room‘s Julian Serna.
With starters as stellar as its mains, it is no wonder OverEasy has become a popular watering hole at Fullerton. Expect no less from the Liat Tower branch, as they have included more bites to go with your pint. The usual suspects of One Pound of Spicy Buffalo Wings will still be available with four increasing level of spice; 1 for Wimp to 4 for Crazy Mofo. The Spicy Wing Roulette is still there to break the ice. Just, maybe have a bucket of their beers by your side to cool down those “Crazy Mofos”. (Hip, Hip, Hurray for Happy Hours!)
This restaurant aims to serve families as well. Surely, with its vibrant decor and baskets of Popcorn Chicken and Salted Caramel Popcorn, the kids are going to love it as much as the parents. There are also XXL Beer Battered Onion Rings, Texas Chilli Cheese or Truffe Fries to hit all those snack-cravings right in one shot.
They have mains like USDA Ribeye Steak & Eggs or The Truffle Burger (with Wagyu beef patty), but I am sure everyone and anyone cannot deny their love for a gooey spoonful of Mac&Cheese. With a special highlighted section in the menu, OverEasy knows what its customers want. There’s the Good Old-Fashioned one, but Mac & Cheeks boasts generous chunks of braised beef cheeks for all the meat lovers out there.
And, you cannot have have a American Diner experience without the Reuben Pastrami Sandwich. The meat itself was cured in-house for a total of 168 hours. It is decent, but I would say that it is missing the smoky flavour I like in my pastrami.
But, if you are in the mood for sharing, there’s the glorious off-menu Beer Can Chicken. This American home BBQ staple has made its way to our dinner table thanks to its delicious rub and juicy chunks. It comes with loads of grilled vegetables, and can feed up to four. Really, what’s not to love about roast chicken?
They serve up indulgent milkshakes; Our Super Thick Classic Shakes in Chocolate, Coffee, Malt and so on, alongside refreshing Cold Pressed Juices. Of course, their specialty cocktails such as Strawberry Fields Mojito and Mama’s Special Lemonade are still on the menu. But, a must try would be the B.B. King Cocktail! It is a deliciously balanced banana-infused and smoked maple cocktail, which comes with a spiked “Banana Ice Cream” on the side. Julian Serna has quite outdone himself with this.
