Atrium and Pacific Marketplace at the lobby level of Pan Pacific Singapore has revamped its afternoon tea with two new menus since 5 January 2016. You have a choice of Peranakan delights or a more traditional English option from 2 to 6pm daily. Priced at S$38++ per person with coffee or Gryphon teas, the afternoon tea is also available at S$58++ with a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne or S$68++ with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Rosé champagne.

The Peranakan Afternoon Tea Menu

The traditional Nonya Chicken Curry was my favourite dish from the Peranakan Afternoon Tea Menu. The rich aromatic and thick curry went well with the crispy French Baguette.  Other items on the Nonya menu served in tiffins included Kueh Pie Tee, Seafood Otah Otah Sandwich, Penang Popiah and Apam Balik, a pancake of peanut fillings as well as Rainbow Kueh (nine-layered colourful cake), Kueh Seri Muka (double layered steamed glutinous rice topped with pandan custard) and Dried Shrimp with Coconut Pulut Panggang (lightly grilled glutinous rice roll wrapped with fragrant shrimp filling).

There are other delights from the sweet selection including traditional and pandan kueh lapis, Ondeh Ondeh, a rather old style heritage butter cake, ang ku kueh with peanut filling, kueh ko chee, tapioca cake and local old school biscuits.

The English Three Tier Afternoon Tea Menu

Served on a three-tier stand, the English Afternoon tea menu offers four flavoured buns such as the Mini Spinach bun with cucumber and dill, Beetroot bun with crab meat and avocado, Turmeric bun with smoked turkey and honey mustard as well as the Charcoal bun with smoked salmon. What’s an afternoon tea with scones! You get to enjoy a dark raisin scone with jam, butter and clotted cream.

Nine varieties of sweet pastries will more than sufficiently fill you up with refillable coffee or a selection of Gryphon Teas.

The homemade lollipop looks differs from most lollipops as it is soft. The lemon meringue tart will be perfect for a wake me up. Others include the almond florentine tuile, sacher slice cake with apricot, assorted macarons, English fruit cake, fresh berry tart and caramel croquembouche. The coconut cheese cake was devine!
