Chef Daniel Chavez has curated a tasting menu that showcases Argentinian cuisine with a modern twist, inspired by Argentinian’s love for sweet tastes. This 3-course set meal collaboration with Nespresso at Ola Cocina Del Mar, that has been serving great Argentinian food for the past nine years at Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3, is part of the launch of Nespresso’s World Explorations range of coffees.
The dining experience culminates with Alfajores, a dessert created with butter cookie, dulce de leche, Nespresso Coffee Sauce served with a cup of Buenos Aires Lungo.
Priced at S$62++ per person, the Argentina with Buenos Aires set meal features appetisers Pork Chorizo Sausages with tomatoes, crispy capers, roasted pumpkin & homemade relish and Corn Empanadas, a puff pastry filled with mozzarella cheese, corn and Chimichurri sauce.
There are 3 choices of main courses – the Argentinian Prawn Pasta, Roasted Baby Chicken with roasted peppers or the Bife Argentino Grilled Ribeye Steak which you need to add S$15.
I had the Argentinian Prawn Pasta and it was love at first bite. The al dente egg fettuccini is mixed in basil sauce, ricotta cheese and charred cherry tomatoes. This paired so well with the sweet fresh Argentinian prawns. One would not have associated Argentina with seafood, but these prawns need to be showcased in cuisines here more often. Whilst the first mouthful may have been a tad bit salty, but that slowly dissipated into a beautiful dish that I had no regrets choosing when I had to decide which main to get.
Nespresso launched its World Explorations Lungo series on 18 February 2021. Featuring two new mild Lungos, the Shanghai Lungo and Buenos Aires Lungo joins four other coffees that are more balance or intense – the Tokyo Vivalto Lungo, Vienna Linizio Lungo, Stockholm Fortissio Lungo, and Cape Town Envivo Lungo. These are available online and at Nespresso boutiques. The World Explorations Intense 3-sleeve pack and World Explorations Discovery 3-sleeve pack are available at S$22.50 each. Individual sleeves are available at S$7.50.
As part of the World Explorations launch, Nespresso has partnered with six Nespresso Professional restaurants from 18 February to 18 April 2021 to showcase this range of coffees.
