Mooncake Alert: Capella Singapore

26 August 2011, Singapore (Guest Article) –  Think Capella Singapore and you’d think luxury. And it’s definitely not surprising that its mooncake offering will appeal to luxury connoisseurs.

Unlike most other luxurious hotels that are offering novel mooncakes, Capella stays true to tradition and presents the classic white lotus paste with double yolks. This recipe uses only organic ingredients to make it indulgence more guilt-free.

For a special treat, check out the single yolk lotus paste mooncake that’s delicately infused with osmanthus tea and tangerine peel. This combination is sure to give a surprisingly refreshing touch to the rich taste of lotus paste.

The mooncakes are encased in a custom-designed box that’s reminiscent of a jewellery case. This case is also a treasure box – included in each of them is a gold coin that you can exchange for a night’s stay in one of Capella’s Premier Seaview Room including breakfast for two. As if this weren’t luxurious enough, purchase any of the first ten mooncakes boxes and you’d have your set hand-delivered by Rolls Royce.

One of the bearers of the set will also win an exclusive piece from Boucheron, the Ava Deco White Gold Diamond necklace worth $40,000, which comprises of more than 2.5 carats of highest quality diamonds. The draw for the necklace will take place on 12 Sep, the day of celebrations of Mid-Autumn Festival.

Capella’s mooncake set is priced at $688++, call Vanessa Wong at 6591-5036 or email Vanessa.wong@capellahotels.com to check availability. Reservations for next year’s mooncake special can also be made.
