The next time, you’re headed out for an evening of chill out drinks and social time out, check out the latest talk of the town. That has to be Manhattan at Regent Singapore which seats up to 84.
The dimly lit refuge is glamourously decked up with thick maroon curtains, plush carpeting, a beautifully decorated floral centrepiece and an symmetrical mirror ceiling. The relaxing environment is perfect for a leisurely conversation or just to enjoy a drink or two.
There are three private room hideout areas for the more discerning customer who prefers more privacy for the intimate rendezvous. The Rockefeller Room is hidden behind a ‘secret’ door and lined with an ornate marquetry wallpaper tinted in silver blue tones and can accommodate 16 people. The Private Salon accommodates 10 while The Library can accommodate seven.

100 American oak barrels from a small cooperage in Minnesota fill up the Rickhouse where they will be used to finish whiskies and other spirits and to age bitters and single-cask cocktails.
The Ingredients Room houses a collection of unusual ingredients from around the world. Paiva handcrafts his list of interesting and unusual tipples with the ingredients from this room.
25 seasonally rotating cocktails are available here. The cocktails come with fanciful names such as Remember the Maine, The Princess Cut, Box Office Smash or Eighth Ward and they are strong, but hey, no one’s complaining.
Ricky Paiva is the head bartender at Manhattan and he has gained his experience from San Francisco’s Rickhouse. Ricky also got his bartending training from at a culinary school in Portland Oregon a decade ago and was crowned “Best Personality at G’Vine Gin Connoisseur Programme Global Finals in France in 2012.
Even the ice is special, using water of the highest quality and purity, according to the folks at Manhattan. The ice is hand cut to enhance the experience and the flavours.
Bar bites are also available. The Idaho Potatoes with loaded foie gras and pan fried onion dip make great bar food. Other bar bites include the Maine Lobster ‘Roll’, Street Style Hot Dogs, Shrimp Ceviche Taco, Rebellion Burger or the ‘Big’ Apple Cheesecake which comes in a small green apple shaped pastry filled with Philadelphia Cream cheese, Vanilla Sable and Apple Essence.
Expect to spend an average of S$50 and above.
