21 February 2011, Hong Kong – Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will allow hotel guests to enjoy a selection of signature dishes featuring local Scottish seasonal ingredients from Scotland’s Gleneagles Hotel and Scotland’s finest malt whiskies from 28 February to 5 March 2011.
Set in the heart of an 850-acre estate of Scottish glen, Gleneagles Hotel is home to four restaurants including two Michelin Star Restaurant Andrew Fairline, Three championship golf courses and a variety of on site leisure activities. The Managing Director Patrick Elsmie, Executive Head Chef Alan Gibb, Head Pastry Chef Neil Mugg and Bar Manager David Sinclair will visit Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong to present “A Tale of Scotland” to guests of The Chinnery. A Special “marriage of whisky and food” menu will be offered which includes Loch Ryan native oysters served with a whisky mojito; The Gleneagles tasting plate of Campbell’s smoked salmon, Findony Haggis and Deeside venison chorizo and roast pear that will be served with Highland Park 12 years old single malt, Cragganmore 1984 Distillers Edition, Clynelish 14 years old single malt; and wood pigeon with sautéed potatoes, morel mushrooms and Stornoway black pudding served with Dalmore 12 years old single malt.
You’ll get to also get to try a selection of five Scottish Tullibardine single malt whiskies when David Sinclair conducts an adaptation of The Chinnery’s famous “Whiskey Trail”. The remaining bottles from the promotion will be added to The Chinnery’s collection of more than 120 whiskies.
A selection of Gleneagles signature dishes including Hebridean black faced seaweed fed lamb with thyme and honey roast roots and Isle of Mull scallops, Stornaway black pudding and sybie mash hazlenuts, alongside Kyle of Tongue and Loch Ryan oysters will also be added to the Michelin star Mandarin Grill + Bar menu.

Guests who experience any of the “A Taste of Scotland” menus will be invited to enter a prize draw for a chance to win a two-night stay in a suite at The Gleneagles Hotel as well as a spectacular golfing experience for two players on the hotel’s PGA course, the official 2014 Ryder Cup venue (prize valued at HKD32,000).
