For a limited time till 7 July 2019, you can enjoy Malaysian Street Food favourites at York Hotel Singapore’s White Rose Café. The Malaysia Street Food Fiesta is held for the first time offering dishes from other parts of Malaysia instead of just Penang at their previous Penang Hawker’s Fare over the past few years. Guests have given feedback that they wanted to try dishes from other parts of Malaysia. The number of ‘hawker stalls’ in this buffet setting is no less than the previous Penang Hawker’s Fare.
Enjoy dishes such as KL Hokkien Mee, Nasi Kandar , Chee Cheong Fun in two renditions (With Curry Sauce or Minced Pork Mushroom Sauce), White Curry Mee, Char Koay Kok (steamed rice cakes stir-fried with soy sauce, chopped chye poh, prawns, bean sprouts, eggs and chilli paste flavoured with garlic, fish sauce) and a variety of Kuehs and desserts.
My personal favourite is the piping hot herbal Bak Kut Teh that is prepared with Tang Gui and wolf berries. The soup is served with generous portions of enoki mushrooms, pork belly, pork ribs, dried bean curd skin. Remember to mix your own garlic and chilli with dark soy sauce.
For desserts, the popular favourite Apom Manis is back. Try out the delicious nonya kuehs such as Kueh Talam Ubi Kayu, Pulut Tai Tai (Kaya), Kuih Koci, Kueh Talam and a different type of Kuih Lapis. Different kuehs are served every day on a rotational basis. And there’s also chilled Bubur Chacha or Iced Jelly with Lime and to help cool you down after many bowls of hot Bak Kut Teh, White Curry Mee or Ipoh Yong Tau Foo Soup noodles. Fruit skewers of guava, rose apple, pineapple and green mango can be eaten with different dips.
The Malaysia Street Food Fiesta is available for a la carte buffet lunch and dinner. S$25 ++ for adults and S$15++ for children between 5 and 11 years old) Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, adults pay S$28++ and children pay S$18++.
