28 August 2011, Singapore – Do check out the life-sized macaron car at Royal Plaza at Scotts the next time you are at Scotts Road, but make sure you do it before 25 September 2011.   Taking more than two months to construct this 4.40 metres long, 1.9 metres wide and 1.30 metres tall life-sized replica of a racing car, the team from Royal Plaza on Scotts and young volunteers from Community Chest of Singapore’s Metta School used 600 eg whites, four litres of water and 12.5 kilograms of ground almond and icing sugar.  A total of 10,461 macarons were used to construct this car.

On 16 August, Eunice Olsen was at the event as a member of the Community Chest Committee to launch the Vroom Vroom Macaron campaign.    Royal Plaza has been playing an active role in helping Community Chest raise funds and donations to provide care for the under privileged over the years.    This year’s campaign marks the fourth initiative in conjunction with Singapore’s night motor racing event.

The Metta School was established in 2011 for children of various races and religions aged seven to 18 who are diagnosed with mild intellectual disability (IQ range of 50 to 70) and/or mild autism.
