Kagawa Seafood and Handmade Udon at Keyaki

Keyaki at Pan Pacific Singapore offers udon and seafood from the Kagawa Prefecture in Japan from 11 November to 1 December 2013. Udon noodle master Chef Takaaki Kagawa has been specially flown in for this promotion.

The smallest prefecture in Japan has over 700 udon restaurants offering one of the top three types of udon noodles in Japan. “Sanuki” (Kagawa’s name historically) Udon is made from “Sanukino Yume” wheat and characterised by a firm, chewy texxture that is more al dente in comparison to frozen udon. It is best eaten cold with a dipping sauce or cooked in hot broth.

The Kagawa promotion offers seafood from the Seto Naikai (Seto Inland Sea) off the coast of Kagawa and local fruits such as the “Sanuki Gold” Kiwi and “Sanukihime” Strawberry. You can expect a la carte items such as the Mantis Shrimp Tempura, Marinated Broad Beans, Tofu and “Wasanbon” Japanese Brown Sugar ice cream.

The set menus available include:

  • S$55++ five course lunch sets – There are three different sets to choose from
  • S$130++ Sanuki Set Menu – Olive Yellowtail Shabu Shabu. The Yellowtail fish has been fed with olive leaf powder to produce a cleaner, leaner meat
  • S$160++ Seto Set Menu – “Gazami” Crab Hot Pot that has a sweet and piquant flavour
