Not one to rest on their laurels, Johnnie Walker launches the second bottling in their Blenders’ Batch portfolio, the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish. A follow-up to their 2016 Red Rye Finish, this expression was inspired by master blender Dr. Jim Beveridge’s personal journey of blending bourbons and ryes in Kentucky back in the 90s. This time round, each bottle will carry feature whiskies from five distilleries, including Dufftown and the now closed Port Dundas, which were aged in first-fill bourbon casks and finished in former rye casks.
This limited edition bottling is now available at speakeasy bars, specialist retail outlets and select e-commerce sites at S$120 (1L bottle). Those who simply want to give the spirit a try can always head down to Highball, where you will find Brand Ambassador for Johnnie Walker, Kino Soh serving up her favourite, a highball (what else?). There, you may have it neat to first experience its honeyed sweetness, before moving on to a cocktail.
Tip: Do a double strength on the highball for a better kick, or try Kino’s version of a Manhattan with the star spirit.
