Qantas celebrates World Gin Day on 13 June 2015 and will serve a new cocktail at its First lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore from 12 to 18 June 2015.
The Arch Angel is a gin-based apertif-style cocktail designed by Rockpool. A mix of classic charm with spiced and well balanced flavours, the cocktail is a combination of Four Pillars Gin, Aperol, Peychauds bitters, sparkling water and a lemon twist.
Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is a classic gin with a spicy yet citrus flavour. Highly aromatic whole Australian oranges are used which supports the spicier botanicals like cardamom. The cinnamon and star anise add rich fruitcake tones while the Tasmanian pepperberry leaf provides warmth rather than heat, and the lemon myrtle is a beautiful alternative to lemon peel. The Rare Dry Gin has been awarded Double Gold in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2014, Silver in the London International Wine and Spirits Competition and Gold at the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Competition.
