January 2011, Singapore – Furama RiverFront in Singapore ushers in the lively Year of the Rabbit with a rousing Lion Dance Performance on the first day of the Lunar New Year on 3rd February 2011 at 10am. Here’s what The Square at Furama has to offer for your reunion dinner or what to expect when family and friends get-together for the traditional Salmon Yusheng.
An Oriental Gastronomical Odyssey at The Square @ Furama
Enjoy authentic Far East recipes and quintessential Chinese fare such as the lap mei fun (Chinese Preserved Wax Meat Rice), drunken chicken with shaoxing wine, braised pork belly with yam and winter melon soup with scallops.
Other highlights include the piquant lobster laksa and the River Prawn Noodle Soup and Fortune Long Cabbage with Fai Cai and Dried Oysters (which incidentally is one of my favourites).
A Hong Kong Roast corner, helmed by Specialty Chef Wong Kok Ming, offers a selection of Cantonese-style cuts.
End of the meal with a selection of desserts that is created with an oriental twist such as the Mandarin Orange Cheese Cake, Thyme Creme Brulee and Pandan Kaya Cake.
