Burger King’s newest plant-based Whopper launched today 22 June 2021 may have been overshadowed by the over-hyped BTS burger at competitor McDonald’s. But flexitarians now have an additional option for plant-based meat options.
The plant-based patties from The Vegetarian Butcher are cooked on Burger King signature broiler with all the flame-grilled goodness, then served between toasted sesame buns, and topped with freshly sliced tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, crunchy pickles and sliced white onions. The only difference between the plant-based patties and the normal whopper is the patty. While the Plant-based WHOPPER does not contain animal meat but its plant-based patty is cooked in the same broiler as animal meat patties.

I got my colleague Dennis to give the burger a try, not telling him that it was plant-based so that he would not have a biased opinion of the burger. He wasn’t able to tell it apart from a regular meat patty Whopper.
Made by meat lovers for meat lovers, the burger is priced at S$6.90 in Burger King restaurants across Singapore or S$7.90 a la carte on Deliveroo. New Deliveroo customers can enjoy a further S$10 off S$20 spend on all Burger King orders with the code PLANTWHOPPER valid till 30 September 2021. Home Delivery Plant-based WHOPPER Bundles are exclusively available on delivery platforms from 22 June 2021.
