Netflix has revealed that Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova will join the cast of ONE PIECE Season 2 as “Mr. O” and “Miss All Sunday.” They join a star-studded lineup of new and returning cast members, with more announcements to come as production continues in Cape Town.

The World of Studio Ghibli at The Art Science Museum

Japanese animation powerhouse Studio Ghibli’s highly anticipated The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition is set to open at the Art Science Museum on 4 October 2024 till 2 February 2025. Get tickets from S$29 here.

The exhibition spans 2,400 sqm across 11 galleries. Go on an unforgettable journey through 11 well-loved films including My Neighbour Totoro (1988), Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989), Princess Mononoke (1997), Spirited Away (2001), and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004).

16 large-scale theatrical sets transport visitors into iconic scenes of the movies. Wait in the rain with Totoro, enter Howl’s Moving Castle and hop on a train with No-Face. 16 whimsical art installations will offer a more intimate exploration and glimpse into Studio Ghibli’s creative process. Drop by the retail shop to purchase official Studio Ghibli merchandise, and souvenirs that have been designed exclusively for this presentation.

Genshin Impact Teyvat SEA Exploration

Genshin Impact fans and aquarium visitors can experience the Teyvat SEA Exploration, marking the first-ever collaboration between the popular open-world RPG and an aquarium. This unique partnership blends the world of Genshin Impact’s Fontaine region with the marine beauty of S.E.A. Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa. Timed with the introduction of Sigewinne, a character connected to the ocean, this immersive event brings Fontaine’s aquatic landscapes to life. Visitors can enjoy visual arts, cosplay, themed food, and an interactive stamp rally, all while learning about marine conservation and appreciating ocean life.

Look out for decorations inspired by Genshin Impact, including elements like the Resonant Anemone, Allochromatic Anemone, Subdetection Unit, and more. Enjoy photo opportunities with themed displays featuring popular Fontaine characters like Neuvillette and Furina. Special video installations will also showcase exclusive moments with Scylla, Prince of Dragonborn, offering an immersive and captivating experience for fans.

There are also merchandise for fans at the SEAA Treasures retail store including exclusive canvas tote bags (S$18 each), thermos bottles (S$20 each), and T-shirts (S$40 each) featuring designs of the adorable Genshin Impact characters Sigewinne and Aeval.

SPY X FAMILY hits Genki Sushi

Fans of SPY x FAMILY who adore the pink-haired telepath Anya and her spy “parents” can dive into the Gengki Sushi collaboration with the anime. Take part in the “Mission Oishii” operation before it concludes on 3 November 2024. Indulge in a special menu available at all Genki Sushi outlets islandwide, featuring highlights like Anya’s Beef & Peanut Maki – a surprisingly delicious combo of peanut butter and maki. Other offerings include the Stellar Ebi Katsu, Bond Mofu-Mofu Parfait (Hokkaido Milk), Anya Croquette, and more, from the 10 specially crafted SPY x FAMILY dishes.

Limited edition merchandise is also up for grabs. Genki Sushi Premium Members who spend at least S$50 can receive a free, exclusive Anya Tote Bag, while supplies last. Other customers spending S$50 nett will receive a complimentary Genki’s Good Luck Mobile Strap. These charms, inspired by traditional omamori, offer good wishes for various aspects of life, including studies, health, wealth, and love.

Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova Join ONE PIECE Season 2 Cast as Mr. O and Miss All Sunday

Netflix has announced that Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike franchise) and Lera Abova (Bumper in Berlin, Honey Don’t) will appear in the upcoming second season of ONE PIECE as “Mr. O” and “Miss All Sunday” respectively.

The duo join previously announced new cast members Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, Werner Coetser as Dorry, and returning cast members Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger. Additional cast will be announced at a later date. 

Netflix also surprised fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the first table read of Season Two, where it was teased that beloved character Chopper will appear in the new season. Earlier in the week, the series also debuted a Season Two set tour led by Jeff Ward, who plays the fan-favourite villain Buggy. 

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, ONE PIECE follows the adventurous Monkey D. Luffy, a young dreamer determined to live a life of freedom. Luffy embarks on a daring quest to find the legendary treasure, ONE PIECE, and become King of the Pirates. To achieve his goal, he must first assemble his ideal crew, find a ship, and navigate the vast seas while evading the Marines and outsmarting dangerous rivals along the way. Season Two is currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa.
