NETS Enhances Payment Solutions with Expanded Contactless Options.

NETS, in partnership with various banks and payment scheme providers, has been actively expanding access to its contactless payment solutions. In Singapore, all bank cards are equipped with the NETS PIN feature, ensuring secure transactions at retail establishments. Since 2018, NETS has introduced a convenient “tap-to-pay” feature for quick and efficient micropayments below S$100. Presently, customers of DBS/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC, and UOB can utilize their standalone NETS-only ATM cards and Debit Mastercards for seamless NETS payments.

Recently, NETS collaborated with Visa and local banks to extend the NETS contactless functionality to existing Visa debit cards, alongside PIN-based transactions. This collaboration empowers cardholders to make NETS contactless payments without the need for card replacement.

Furthermore, NETS has experienced substantial year-on-year growth in contactless transactions, aligning with the broader industry trends. This growth highlights the ongoing shift towards a cashless society, driven by the increasing popularity of contactless payment methods not only in Singapore but also in similar services worldwide.
