When you first set eyes on Pat Kraal, you will want to hate her. She is strikingly beautiful, tall, slim, and she can eat anything and everything and not add on a gram to that lovely frame.
A model frame she owes “to my genes, thanks mummy!”. A mummy herself, to a quartet of the – what else – handsomest children, three girls and a boy, aged 13 to 22.
“The two youngest have potential to be models, they even stage fashion shows for me once in a while.”
The Singapore girl, of Eurasian parentage, was one of our first to work the catwalks of Paris for haute couture fashion designers such as Givenchy.
Still a size 38, “I put on one kg for every child!”, Pat has no real exercise regime other than to “drink green tea” and “use anti-age products from the pharmacy”.
Living in the land of foie gras and fat cheese has done nothing to alter her good looks.
“I’m the only one in my family hates angmoh food, and since I never drink alone I don’t overindulge in wines either.
“Mind you, when the kids were growing up, I had to eat all their leftovers as my mother taught me never to waste food.”
You can judge for yourself and see Pat Kraal in person when she returns to Singapore as judge for Model Search Grand Finals. Organised by Jurong Point in partnership with Carrie Models International, 26 April 2pm at Jurong Point Centre Stage Level 1. The public can do their part by voting alongside (20 percent of the finalists’ score). Go to Jurong Point’s Facebook page, like the page, vote one contestant from each category per day, now! Supporters can see results of public voting on 25 April and three voters stand a chance to win $100 vouchers.
Last word from Pat: “I hope to find models who can make it on the international scene. They love strong Asian features. In fact, the uglier the better!”
You heard the lovely girl.
