May 2011, Singapore – The Liberty of London pack from Nike is back this Summer. Previous incarnations released in the spring of 2008, which includes the original Liberty Dunks (and Blazers that followed in 2009) were an immediate hit across the world. With limited numbers produced, many people missed the opportunity to own a pair of the exclusive and highly sought – after kicks.
This Summer, the Liberty of London pack features 2 unique and colourful prints, each with its own story to tell.
Tatum is a classic ditsy micro-floral print, while Kara’s Trees has an impressionist-style tornado of pointillist leaves, creating a patterned almost textile-like landscape. The vibrant colour palettes and famous florals present in Liberty’s prints juxtapose perfectly with the clean design lines of the Nike Blazer (Mid and Low versions), Dunk Hi Skinny Premium and Air Max One, making them an instant must‐have for any fashionistas and avid collectors of limited‐edition sportswear.
Created in the 1930s, the Tatum print is characteristic of Liberty of London fabrics that are characterized by all-over floral prints of roses and poppies with detailed movement. Prices start at S$169 for the Nike Women’s Blazer Mid (centre from photo above) and Nike Air Max 90 (bottom). The Nike Air Feather (first shoe in the photo above) costs S$179.
A collaboration between Liberty Design Studio and Quentin Blake, Liberty has created designs inspired by Quentin Blake’s ‘L for Legs’ illustration from his ‘ABC’, resulting in an eclectic mix of prints that reflect his quirky and playful style. Kara Trees is inspired by an archive print, this patterned landscape features an impressionist style tornado of pointillist leaves, a story book fence and pebbles in the background. The Women’s Blazer Mid costs S$169 (second shoe from the photo above) while the Nike Dunk Hi Skinny costs S$179 (third shoe from the photo above).
The Liberty on London pack is available at the Nike Singapore Wisma Atria and selected Nike stores, while stocks last.
