As International Women’s Day approaches us on 8 March 2017, Singapore has begun their celebrations. We start off with The Fullerton Hotel’s Fullerton Celebrates Women campaign (read more about it here). But, any afternoon tea and gallery visit can’t be complete without the perfect outfit. So, read on to see how you can celebrate this momentous day in absolute style.
#CHICHIPROTEST With Customised CHI CHI VON TANG Silk Jackets
Believing that 2017 is the year to stand up for what we believe in, CHI CHI VON TANG transforms their Scotts Square boutique into an interactive Protest! exhibit. It will feature an embroidery art by Asia’s Next Top Model, Sheena Liam. This will be her first solo art piece in the form of a 10-foot display!
Creative director, Lisa Von Tang, also invites all to mark their protest, beliefs and milestones with a personal silk-print photograph lined inside a CHI CHI VON TANG statement jacket. Even if you are without a photo, photographs taken complimentary at the exhibition can be used or you can create your own quote with a variety of fonts.

Poh Heng Carousel Charm Bracelet Collection
Charm bracelets tell a story. Each charm represents a unique moment to every wearer, which is why Poh Heng has launched their Carousel charm collection ahead of International Women’s Day.
For this collection, each charm has been designed to represent the dreams, aspirations and reminiscence of a woman’s life. They present two ranges; one inspired by the ocean to symbolise the gentle yet fierce determination possessed by the woman of today; one inspired by motherhood to represent innocence and unconditional love. Pick and match between seashells, starfishes, teddy bears or rubber ducks in 22K and 18K gold, white gold or rose gold for a charm bracelet that is uniquely hers.
The new Carousel collection will be available at all Poh Heng stores island-wide from March 2017 onwards.

Embrace Jewellery’s Re-Embrace Charity Drive
Homegrown jewellery store, Embrace Jewellery (FB), is collaborating with Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCW)), for their first charity drive, Re-Embrace. As the name suggests, its aims to re-sell donated, pre-loved jewellery pieces at SCWO’s New2U Thrift Shop. Proceeds will go towards Star Shelter, a crisis shelter providing a temporary refuge for women and children survivors of domestic violence, along with other SCWO initiatives.
The drive will be accepting costume jewellery or accessories in good condition (no scratches, chips or tarnish). Fine jewellery in gold or set in diamonds, however, will not be accepted. Donors will need to donate a minimum of three pieces per donation, and will receive a S$5 gift voucher redeemable for purchase at Embrace Jewellery. They will also stand a chance to win a lucky draw* with jewellery prizes of over S$2,000, kindly sponsored by Velatti, Unode50 and Frevor Montreal.
The public can make their donations at the following locations; Embrace Jewellery (Takashimay Level 3, The Giftbox) and Kai Life (Holland Road Shopping Centre #02-04 or Great World City #02-k4).
*The lucky draw will close on 8 May 2017, and winners will be picked by on 12 May 2017. All winners will be notified by email.
