Killer; that’s the one word to describe Dr. Martens A/W’15. It is not the first time for the iconic British shoe brand to tap into the history of England’s myriad sub-cultures, but it is a first for them to celebrate 30 years of fashion revolution. This time round, they will be honoring Ray Petri and Jamie Morgan’s game-changing Buffalo movement in the only way they know how – an entire collection of boots for our choosing.

Monochrome
Take on the bold attitude of Buffalo with their monochrome series. It is reminiscent of their previous studded graffiti collection, but, this time, features a collaborative effort with illustrator Mark Wigan. He has lent Dr. Martens some of his signature characters for the Black Aztec print, embracing his “commitment to the power of imagination and the compulsion to draw”. I could not think of a more perfect pair for aspiring artists out there.
Tech Lux
Despite being a die-hard leather aficionado, their Tech Lux series have me screaming for more. The metallic, satin-like shine is a true beauty particularly in Tracer Green. That aside, I am glad to announce the return of the coveted Jadon. Previously only available in Black and Red, my favourite cut returns in a sturdy coated Ajax with contrasting gold eyelets. Those who find laces a fuss can surely invest in this, for it has a zip on the side that makes it as easy to wear as a pair of slip ons!
Hobo
Rugged utility wear also gets a Buffalo styling with bulbous toes and padded collars. I adore the luxurious hazelnut coloured brogue, where the refined details are contrasted with the rugged tone and grained leather. Just like the spirit of Buffalo, it is a mix of what is authentically unique and celebrates every aspect of it.
Fashion trends may come and go, but rebellious self-expression is ever-present. That is the essence of Buffalo, that is the essence of Dr. Martens. These boots are made for more than walking, it is to #StandForSomething.
The new collection will be available at Dr. Martens Stores at the flagship Captiol Piazza Store #B1-31 and Wheelock Place #02-17A.
