Mark my words; this Fall will be the return of Club Monaco (FB). Sure, it has fallen off the top of our shopping list over the seasons – but, their Fall/Winter 2015 collection titled “Dreams of Iceland” is a minimalistic dream come true.
It looked to the Nordic country for inspiration, taking its varied landscape and muted colour palette of its nature to create basic pieces to layer, layer and layer. That’s the one thing we all love about the later seasons – and why I dislike Singapore’s ever-tropical climate! The contrasting textures becomes more apparent with a “natural” colour palette, or even, the base for a statement piece.
More on its revival, Creative Director Caroline Belhumeur is a bit of an oldie, but a goodie. Instead of drawing inspiration from the chaos of the ever-changing runway, she and her team looks back at vintage pieces for a more nostalgic feel. This gave birth to lasting, classic and quality pieces you can keep in your closet for as long as you desired – an investment piece.
Too bad Singapore is way too hot for Fall/Winter. Well, maybe I could get just one jacket – you know, in case I ever go anywhere?
Club Monaco is located at Takashimaya S.C., Ngee Ann City at #B1-41/47/48 391 Orchard Road, Singapore.
