Another year begins, and it’s time to wash away the dreads of 2016 with a little sparkle. Artisan jewelry label Carrie K. is back with another collection, the Bling Bar, to design your very own charm bracelets, or as they call it, Bling Bracelets.
The jingle of a charm bracelet will always have me looking. There’s a hint of magic to this accessory, different from the draw of a Tiffany or Cartier. To me, they were stories you wore on your wrists, representing yourself or what you are to a love one.
And, the Bling Bar offers that and a little more.
The label is famous for Ms. Carolyn Kan’s innovative and experimental approach to jewelry design, with the Nut and Bolts bracelets and “A Beautiful Mess” collection inspired by paint splashes being some of her iconic pieces.
For this current season, she offers symbolic pieces such as rose gold hearts, messages like Love, Laugh and Luck, and, also, a wishbone as a symbol of good luck. But, what caught my eye, and many others, are the charms from her previous collections. Miniature dinosaurs, a razor blade and more unique pieces are just waiting to be picked.
There are also Bling Pennies, in yellow gold or silver, which can be engraved with up to 5 words. Here’s the kicker: the messages can be engraved based on your handwriting.
All these charms can be loaded onto the Bling Bracelets available in 925 silver, yellow gold and rose gold. They twists and bend just enough to fit most wrists sizes, and comes with their signature screw-on closure for that simple yet sophisticated look. The bracelets will also include similarly coloured beads as charm separators, keeping each charm in their place with every swing of the wrist.
There is no limit to what you can do at the Bling Bar. Make one Bling Bracelet loaded with charms, or make several to stack them together. Another sweet idea is to alternative them with their Lunar New Year Lucky Bracelet capsule collection. The petite yet vibrant gemstones are more than just aesthetics. Blue lolite gemstones is believed to provide self-assurance and endurance, green oynx for good decisions, garnet to revitalise and so on.
The Bling Bar and Lucky Bracelet are available at TANGS and the Carrie K Atelier at National Design Centre. The collections retail at $38 for a silver bead, $58 for a small penny, $148 for a plain bracelet and $168 for a Lucky bracelet. Engraving services are exclusively available at the Carrie K Atelier.
