Inaugural Hinghwa Food & Cultural Festival to be held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from 12 to 17 March.

Experience the charm and vibrancy of Hinghwa culture with entertainment put up by Southern Temple Shaolin Monks from Fujian China or the Puxian Opera Troupe at the inaugural Hinghwa Food & Cultural Festival. The festival is organised by the Singapore Puxian (Hinghwa) Network and will be held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza in Orchard Road from 12 to 17 March 2024.

Huang Feng Rong, a visual performing artist from Fujian, China will showcase his unique live painting performance. Caligraphers Zhu Wenhong and Huang Jiafang will showcase their Chinese calligraphy. Local singers of Hinghwa descent Joanna Dong and Nathan Hartono will perform their hit songs during the opening day of the festival.

Savour over 30 Hinghwa delicacies, desserts and drinks made with ingredients sourced directly from Putian, China. The Fumao Pork Puff Pastry by Fumao Bakery, a traditional bakery, showcases a century-old recipe. Other highlights include the Pickled Olive Skewer, Tofu Meatballs with Pork Meat in Thick Soup, Oyster Cake, and Hinghwa Red Rice Cake filled with green bean paste. Drinks like Red Mushroom Tea and Bayberry Tea with Iced Berry Cubes will also be available.

The festival will feature esteemed brands including San Fu Classical Furniture (三福家具), Four Nobles Classical Furniture (四君子), and Tian Zong (天纵), which offer high-quality classical furniture made with timbre sourced from Fujian. The beauty of Hinghwa culture is also reflected in the handicrafts and jewellery from 华昌珠宝, and arts and crafts from 莆作. From hand-carved furnishings to delicate jewellery and intricate artworks, festival-goers can appreciate the exquisiteness of Hinghwa craftsmanship.

You can also purchase dried foods and famous produce including dried longans, a variety of tea to refresh the senses, Pei Pa Koa, also known as loquat paste, and preserved kelp.
