Singapore GP launches the first-ever Fit For Racing fitness challenge and is inviting Singaporeans and residents here to sign up for the challenge on 22 August 2015 at the F1 Pit Building from 8.30am. Register for one of the 600 slots here for free from today at noon. Complete all the challenges and you will receive a limited edition Fit for Racing finisher pack. You can also win over S$24,000 worth of Prizes for the male and female category including The Green Room and Grandstand tickets to the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix from 18 to 20 September 2015.
The Fit For Racing fitness challenge is the culmination of an eight-week online fitness video series led by Australian fitness coach Paul Haines. Paul has trained elite athletes such as Daniel Ricciardo. Haines is joined by Singapore’s only female race driver, Claire Jedrek in the video series. Each week, a specific theme is highlighted to give you a sneak peek into the rigorous training regime of a Formula One driver in preparation for extreme G-forces as well as the mental and physical challenges while enduring the intense heat and humidity of Singapore’s climate.
You will go through circuit-style workouts with six competitive challenges that simulate the training plan of a Formula One driver focusing on core stability, balance, upper and lower body strength, conditioning as well as full body muscular endurance. The top 12 male and female finalists will battle it out in the finals that will also test their reactive skills.
‘Rev Up Singapore!’ has other fan-friendly initiatives lined up including the popular Thursday Pit Lane Walk and Behind the Scene tours. More details will be announced by Singapore GP at a later date.
