The inaugural Hawker Culture by Maybank features 12 heritage hawkers from Malaysia and Singapore this weekend at the Flower Field Hall at Gardens by the Bay. (Enter from the entrance next to the turnstiles leading into Flower Dome.) It will be held on 5 and 6 October but only tickets for the fifth are still available. Enjoy your food in aircon comfort with seats and tables provided.

13 items on the menu are prepared by Kaw Kaw Burger from Kuala Lumpur, Kwong Wah Cendol from Petaling Jaya, Nasi Lemak Ong from Alor Setar, Roasted Chef from Subang, Robert’s Char Kway Teow from Petaling Jaya. From Singapore, there are Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake, Hawker Chan’s Soya Sauce Chicken Rice, Haig Road Putu Piring, Pandan Gardens Fishball Noodles and Laksa, Tuan Yuan Bak Kut Teh and Rong Guang BBQ’s signature stingray. Dishes at the event will be priced at S$4, S$8 or S$12.

Regular tickets with a value of S$16 credits in S$4 denominations are available online at S$17.50 for Maybank Cardmembers, S$21.50 for the public. You can purchase tickets at the door – S$20 for Maybank customers and S$24 for non-Maybank customers.

Or spoil yourselves with Premium tickets offering six dishes from any hawker, free-flow soft drinks, sparkling and mineral water and beer, dedicated seating within cordoned-off are and butler service. Maybank cardmembers online exclusive at S$93, Premium public S$123, At the door S$90 for Maybank customers and S$120 for non-Maybank customers. Additional orders can be purchased on-site as per public sales prices.

Tickets are sold by Lunch (1130am to 330pm) or Dinner (530pm to 930pm) sessions. This is a cashless event. Major credit cards are accepted on-site.

Wine Discovery Weekend

As part of the annual Wine Discovery Weekend organised by Ewineasia.com, the Wine Discovery Walkabout Tasting returns on Saturday 5 October from 11 am to 5 pm at Mandarin Oriental, Garden Suite on Level 5 with over 120 varieties of wines from over 40 wineries for tasting.  The ticket price of $45 includes a $15 voucher that can be used towards wine purchases.  

In addition to the walkabout tasting, there will be 4 masterclass sessions that will respectively take attendees through the regions of Champagne, Languedoc, Tuscany and Rhone Valley.  Each masterclass is limited to 24 seats and priced at $15 per person. Straits Wine Wine Fiesta 2019

Wine Fiesta 2019 returns 4 to 6 October 2019 at The Gallery in Grand Hyatt Singapore with an all-inclusive gourmet food and wine pairing experience. The Straits Wine Company has added the gourmet food element to accompany the wines in the 12th edition of this wine festival.

Chef Gregor Streun, Grand Hyatt Singapore’s Executive Sous Chef has curated a special menu to pair with wines from Australia & New Zealand, Austria & Germany, France & Spain, Italy and USA.

Wine Fiesta on 5 and 6 October 2019 are priced at S$88 and S$78 respectively. Purchase tickets in parties of four at S$75 and S$65 respectively.

Guests at Wine Fiesta will discover over 200 wines with the winemakers and pairing including the sustainable spencer gulf prawn cocktail with freshly shucked oyster with mignonette, lemon and tabasco, a green pea risotto with goat cheese feta, mint and preserved lemon and a Beef-BBQ rubbed house brisket with chimichurri sauce.

Klook Travel Festival

The first-ever Klook Travel Festivawill be held at Suntec City Convention Centre this weekend from 11 am to 9 pm on 5 and 6 October 2019. The one-of-a-kind experiential travel fair features personalities who will share travel tips, as well as event-exclusive discounts and travel essentials, go on sale. Visitors stand a chance to win attractive prizes valued at a total of S$50,000. Klook Travel Festival is your one-stop-shop for all your travel needs including flights and accommodation provided by Agoda, Scoot and Thai Airways as well as travel essentials by Shopee or insurance by Tiq by Etiqa Insurance.

The first 500 visitors each day will receive a goodie bag of discount vouchers from Agoda, Sephora, Klook and GoPro.
